Students
Door Access
Your Spartan Card can be used for access to secured doors and areas across the campus. The ID Office does NOT add door access onto the cards.
Door access to your residence hall is added by the Student, Life and Engagement Department. If you are having issues with door access to your residence hall, please contact the front desk or neighborhood service center supervisor at your building with a request to add access. Neighborhood service center locations can be found here.
Other access, such as access to a specific academic building or computer lab, can be added by the department that desires you to have that access. Please reach out to the department and they will get the appropriate door access added.
When using your Spartan Card for door access, please make sure to take it out of your wallet or bag. Another card you are carrying could interfere with the card reader.

Dining Plans and Spartan Cash
Your Spartan Card can be used for access to dining halls across the campus, if you have purchased a meal plan or added Spartan Cash to your account. For information on dining halls, meal plans and menus, please visit Eat@State. If you wish to purchase a meal plan, you can do so online at Eat@State or in-person at the ID Office and other on-campus locations.
You may also load Spartan Cash on your Spartan Card, which can be used at various on and off-campus locations. If you wish to add Spartan Cash on your account, you can do so online at Spartan Cash website or in-person at the ID Office and other on-campus locations.

Athletics Events
Your Spartan Card can be used for Athletic events across the campus. For information on how to purchase and use tickets, please visit Spartan Tickets Office. If you are a season football or men’s basketball ticket holder, please note that the ticket to a game is loaded one night before the game.
Library
Your Spartan Card can be used in the libraries across the campus to check out materials. For information on checking out library materials, please visit Library Borrowing Information Page.
Recreational Facilities (IM)
Your Spartan Card can be used for access to recreational facilities across the campus. For information on obtaining a membership and accessing the facilities, please visit RecSports Membership page.
Parking
Your Spartan Card can be used to unlock parking gates once you purchase the appropriate parking permit. For information on obtaining a parking permit, please visit Parking Permits website.
